Honoring Our Nation's Heroes on Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a day of appreciation for all of the brave men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. Mutual Security Credit Union is proud of and grateful for our veterans all year long, but on this particular day, we're committed to making a special effort to thank them and let them know that their service to our country will never be forgotten.

Three years ago, the MSCU team developed the Annual Veterans Day Volunteer Initiative that gives staff the chance to serve those who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe.

MSCU employees, including U.S. Air Force veteran and CEO Larry Holderman and U.S. Air Force veteran and Card Services Manager Karen Wilding, spent the day on November 11th volunteering at local veteran organizations, American Legion Post 16 and Homes for the Brave, to help prepare and serve meals, as well as assist in their fall clean-up projects.

Homes for the Brave was also presented a donation from MSCU staff as a result of an internal community give-back initiative, Jeans for a Cause, where each week staff wear jeans on Fridays for a small donation and quarterly present the funds raised to a non-profit in our community that falls into one of our four areas of giving.
