We’d like to congratulate, Kourtney Payne, one of our 2022 Scholarship Recipients of the Larry F. Holderman Scholarship.
Throughout high school, Kourtney embraced her strong communication skills, competitive nature, and teamwork to support the open house for new incoming students. With her outgoing personality, she was able to authentically advocate for the place she called her second home –while also helping her community grow.
Kourtney’s volunteer work was beyond the open house, leading her to become a mentor to many of the underclassmen and continued to help them navigate life in high school. She hopes to continue giving back in the next phase of her life by supporting her new school in a similar capacity.
Her commitment to collaboration and making an impact on the lives of others will continue, as Kourtney aspires to become a Criminal Defense Attorney. Kourtney is attending the University of Massachusetts (UMASS) Dartmouth in Fall 2022, with a major in Criminal Defense.
The Larry F. Holderman Scholarship is awarded in honor of Larry Holderman, who served as the MSCU CEO from 1979 to 2019. He dedicated over 40 years to his members and credit union philosophy and continues to be a champion in the credit union movement. In honor of his long-standing commitment to collaboration, passion, and community advocacy – two awards are given to a child or grandchild of a MSCU employee displaying similar qualities.
