Griffin Hospital's Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition educates children and adults on a variety of health, wellness and safety programs to reduce unintentional injuries and death among children under the age of 17. Safe Kids offer hands-on, interactive, and fun programs at the Griffin Hospital and throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley.
At every program, children and adults receive educational activity books, related items, such as water bottles for sports safety and hydration and reflective zipper pulls for pedestrian safety, and parent literature. Safe Kids also conducts child passenger seat monthly clinics at Griffin to educate parents on the proper installation of car seats and when necessary, provides free car seats to qualified recipients.
As part of MSCU's commitment to elevate the community where our members live, work, and play, we've made a $2,500 to assist the great work of Griffin Health in our community.
“We are very thankful for this generous donation from Mutual Security Credit Union,” said Cathi Kellett, Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition Coordinator. “It is with community partnerships like this that we are able to bring engaging interactive and educational programs to our local youth.”
