Together We Advance: MSCU Earns Juntos Avanzamos Designation

SHARE

Mutual Security Credit Union is proud to announce that it has officially been awarded the Juntos Avanzamos (“Together We Advance”) designation, a national recognition for credit unions that demonstrate a strong commitment to serving and empowering Hispanic and immigrant communities through inclusive, affordable, and accessible financial services.

This significant achievement is the result of more than three years of dedicated work by the entire Mutual Security team to build a credit union that is welcoming, inclusive, and empowering for all. The Juntos Avanzamos designation reflects the credit union’s progress in expanding bilingual services, strengthening cultural competency, and ensuring that all members—regardless of immigration status—are treated with dignity and respect.

“Earning this designation is a tremendous honor that highlights our shared dedication to breaking down barriers and promoting financial inclusion,” said Hank Baum, President & CEO. “While this milestone focuses on enhancing our service to Hispanic and immigrant communities, it is part of our broader mission to support all underserved communities across our field of membership who have historically faced systemic challenges accessing fair financial services.”

Juntos Avanzamos credit unions employ bilingual, culturally competent staff and leadership, accept alternative forms of identification, and foster a culture of respect and dignity for all members.

Mutual Security Credit Union remains steadfast in its commitment to equity, respect, and community. This designation represents not an end point, but a step forward in the credit union’s ongoing journey to be a place where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported on their path to financial well-being.

“We thank our dedicated employees for creating a culture of inclusion and care that made this achievement possible,” added Baum. “This is a collective accomplishment, and we look forward to the opportunities ahead as we continue to live out our values.”
