MSCU Donates 1K in Honor of DVAM
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Mutual Security Credit Union donated $1,000 to The Center for Empowerment and Education, formally The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury on Tuesday, October 25th.
A large part of MSCU’s mission is to make a positive impact on the communities we serve through volunteerism as well as empowering organizations that hold a similar mission. As longstanding partners, The Center for Empowerment and Education works to end violence against individuals and families, “to foster equality and empowerment for all.”
Serving individuals and families in the Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield County communities, the Center provides prevention, crisis intervention, and support services with regard to domestic violence, sexual assault, and support with other major life transitions.
Founded in 1975, The Center for Empowerment and Education has been a safe haven for thousands of individuals and families, providing free and confidential services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some of their services include Advocacy, prevention and education, Support Groups, and an emergency residential facility.
Thank you to everyone at The Center for Empowerment and Education for the work that you do! It is an honor for MSCU to contribute to your mission!
